The inspection, conducted by the Care Quality Commission, a body responsible for the regulation, inspection and review of all adult social care services in the public, private and voluntary sectors in England, lasted 4 hours and evaluated all aspects of Dove’s practice management. It included; cross infection control, equality, diversity, confidentiality and IT.

All of our staff played a big part in preparing for the inspection through ongoing training programmes and we were very proud to receive email confirmation of our compliance.

Pain is actually a very poor indicator of the state of your teeth. A tooth can have a small amount of recession and be very painful, but conversely, it can go through a high level of decay and can form a chronic abscess with no pain felt. Also, gum disease can lead to the process of bone loss, tooth mobility and subsequent loss without it even hurting too!

Many parents aren’t even aware that their child’s second teeth are coming through, but as soon as they begin to erupt, around the age of six, if sealed, decay can be significantly halted, steering children in the right direction for maintaining healthy teeth for life.

Fissure’s are the grooves found in the chewing surfaces of the back teeth; areas notorious for collecting food debris. The sealant comprises a ‘runny’ plastic that sets hard, just like paint.

It’s a condition that can really interrupt sleep patterns of the sufferer and indeed, their partner too.  It causes tiredness during the day which has been accountable for road traffic and other serious accidents. The condition has also been linked to high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes.
